Origin of Woolfe

January 10th, 2014

The story I am about to tell may sound like a fairy tale, and although for us is sometimes still seems surreal, it is a true story. One that has changed our lives. This is the story of how “Woolfe – The Red Hood Diaries” came to be…

It all started about one year ago…

At that time we were a team of 3, just starting production of a series of games for preschoolers (www.forestpals.com) of which the first two season inspired games have already been released and two more will be released later this year. To help make these games we were looking for a 3D artist. Quite a lot of people applied for the job but we narrowed down the list and invited only a hand full of people for a personal meeting… one of which was Davy.

So, are you ready for some gameplay action? Here is a pre-alpha gameplay preview of our game Woolfe. It shows more details of one specific environment “The Toy Factory”. All video footage was captured in-game (hence the framedrops). The animations, combat and character controller are still very much in development, but we hope you like the atmosphere…

Woolfe Dev Blog is Live!

December 3rd, 2013

Ok, our game is steadily progressing… time to start looking at how we can tell the world it exists. We’ve been doing a lot of reading for this, there’s a whole bunch of websites telling indie game developers how to promote their game. Apparently one of the most important thing to do, is to build a community. For us, that’s a tough one…

The last few years we have been doing mostly work-for-hire kind of jobs. We had very little contact with our audience, because it was actually our clients audience. Now we have to do things differently… This is our first attempt at making something for the people! For YOU!

So how can we make it worth your while? (Tell us in the comments!) We’ll try to keep you updated about our development process as best we can while trying not to put in too much spoilers… We’ll prepare some playable demo’s for you to test if you want? And step by step we’ll start unveiling small parts of our intriguing story.

You probably figured out our Red Riding Hood is not the innocent little girl we know from the childrens books… For some inspiration on where it could go, check out the different versions of the fairy tale that have been made throughout history: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Little_Red_Riding_Hood

That’s it for now… hope you like what you see! If you want to help us in any way, please spread the word and stay tuned!

PS. Don’t forget to tell Davy you love his work 🙂

Meet the team – Davy

Davy Penasse – Lead 3D artist

Without a doubt the most important person in Woolfe project… Without Davy, there would be no Woolfe.
Davy is the lead 3D Artist. He created the initial designs that inspired us to start making this game. I’m sure we’ll tell that story someday!
Don’t forget to tell him you like his work!

Over the next few weeks we’ll add more “Meet the team” posts and give more information about each member…

In the press

December 2nd, 2013

I know we haven’t given anyone much information about our game yet… We only have a teaser trailer that hint a few possibilities.

Indiestatik.com was able to make a nice article just by looking at the trailer. They actually made some very interesting assumptions. Maybe some of them could actually be true?

Preparing cutscenes

November 22nd, 2013

We have not shared much work-in-progress details before as we do not want to spoil anything for you. However, it is really hard to keep it all to ourselves… so here’s some concept art and a moodboard picture.

In December we will be filming the cutscenes for “Woolfe”.
