Leap of faith…

March 28th, 2014

As you know… we were hoping to give you a playable demo by the end of this month but a lot has happened the last few weeks… Don’t worry, they’re all good things… but the result is that we can’t give you anything to play just yet. Read all about it in the rest of this post.

In the meantime, we hope this work-in-progress teaser video of the “Woolfe – Forest Level” makes up for it a bit…

GDC / Game Connection

What a crazy experience! Exactly one week ago we returned from what we can only describe as the the most intense few days we ever experienced.

As you know, “Woolfe” was nominated as one of 5 “Best Console & PC hardcore” Selected Projects at Game Connection America 2014. Which unfortunately, we did not win… But, because of this, we were also allowed to take part in the connection event, which is focused towards linking game developers to publishers. Our agenda was packed with meetings, every half hour we got the chance to pitch our project to a different publisher.

We spoke with Microsoft, Sony, Ubisoft, Namco Bandai, Atlus, Daedallic, Meridian4, Reverb,… and a lot more very cool and very interested publishers. Negotiations have started with some of them, as we’re trying to find out who would be the best match for Woolfe… but before we make a deal…

Kickstarter / Publisher / Early Access

In our last post we asked YOU what we should do… We were really amazed by the number of responses we received, but most of all, we were very surprised by the maturity of the responses. Almost every response was a well thought out suggestion that made sense in our current situation. Most of you had a similar view on how we might proceed.

First of all, you told us NOT to release in chapters. (This was our initial idea. We saw it as the best way to get financing to make our full game.)
You wanted a game that was as high a quality as we could achieve. As to how we should do this, you almost unanimously suggested:

“TRY KICKSTARTER, you’ve got nothing to loose. If it fails, you can still fall back on a publisher or even Early Access.”
(Read all the suggestions on our Steam Announcement page)

You know what?

WE THINK YOU’RE RIGHT!
We have nothing to loose, so we’ve started preparing our Kickstarter campaign, as you can imagine, this is quite a lot of work, it won’t be ready next week…
But after some brainstorming this week, we think to have found a very interesting concept, that would help us fund the campaign and also get a HOT new feature in the game.

We think you’re going to LOVE IT!

Unreal upgrade!

You may have heard the other big news? Epic, the developer of the UNREAL game-engine has changed its license terms! This means, we will upgrade from UDK (free, but limited) to Unreal engine 3 or maybe even Unreal engine 4. We’ll be able to make everything MUCH nicer, add more features, tweak gameplay better and load’s of other cool stuff to take Woolfe to the next level.

Just saying… 😉

Coming to Consoles?

Well, maybe! We should be receiving a Playstation Devkit soon. This was also one of the rewards for our nomination at Game Connection. We’ve never done any console development, but because we can now upgrade our Unreal engine, we should be able to do it! We’ll keep you posted on how that goes…

Geven ze ook niet veel Xbox One Dev-kits uit via ID@Xbox?

you scared me off when you said you had talked with sony, that would have made the game a PS exclusive, I`m glad you choose to go to kickstarter I want this game on PC, and I am definitely going to back this project. Thanks!

Hello I have a small suggestion could use more weapons to the game apart from the ax as a scythe or sword
